Royal Thai is a premier carpet manufacture and design company with a history dating back to 1967. Their goal was to create a modern design that communicated their sophistication, creativity, and legacy to a wide variety of clients around the world.
This project was running behind schedule when I took over as project manager. I started work on organizing the content from the client and working together with our designer to build out page layouts based on the content we had while the client gathered everything else from corporate.
The site had a large amount of information and images and our main goal was to organize all of this content in a way that felt cohesive and more importantly was useful for Royal Thai's clients.
We found that in addition to the header navigation, we left threads going to different related parts of the website nested within individual pages. On the Expertise page we showed a list of related projects for each expertise so that users interested in a certain area could continue to browse. While working on the website we found the carpets to be very visually interesting and that this imagery was a great way to lead users through the website, increasing their interest in Royal Thai along the way.
In the end with help from the provided amazing imagery from the carpets, we were able to create an immersive digital showroom for customers to browse different carpet categories and learn about the story, mission, and capabilities of Royal Thai.
